How to find us                                  Home

97 Newbury Street is located in the Back Bay section of central Boston near Clarendon Street, not far from the Public Garden and Copley Square.

Walking: Newbury Street originates at the Public Garden and Arlington Street.  It is parallel to Boylston Street and Commonwealth Avenue, and between them.  97 is on the north side between Berkeley and Clarendon, about equidistant from Copley Square at Dartmouth Street and the Public Garden at Arlington Street.

Amtrak:
All trains stop at the Back Bay Station which is the next to the last stop coming into Boston from the south. This station is a 10 minute walk away via Copley Square.

MBTA Transit: Orange Line:  The Back Bay stop is 10 minutes away.  Green Line:  We are halfway between the Arlington and Copley stops.  A 5 minute walk.

MBTA Commuter Rail: Back Bay station is a stop for all the southern lines.  A 10 minute walk.  The northern and western lines stop at North Station.  We are a 25 minute walk over Beacon Hill and the Boston Common to the Public Garden.  Or take the Green Line to the Arlington stop, a 5 minute walk to 97 Newbury Street.

Auto or Taxi: First, get a good map, or driver, unless you really know what you are doing.  We are not far from the Copley Square turnoff of the Massachusetts Turnpike coming from the west, as well as the Clarendon Street exit off Storrow Drive. The driving directions from all points are complicated.  There is a parking garage on Clarendon Street, between Boylston and Stuart Streets intended for short-term parking.  Look closely because the entrance is under a seafood restaurant.  There is also parking under the Boston Common and under the Prudential Center.  Parking on the street is possible, with luck. Be sure to put sufficient money in the meter, and never park in a handicapped zone.  Curbside spaces in the residential areas nearby are reserved for residents. Usually, traffic is thick and heavy and a real challenge for non-residents.  Jay-walking is a tradition, and an important rule to be observed is that pedestrians are always right even when they are wrong, especially on Newbury Street.
